Full Sync and Smart Sync

There are two types of inventory sync in PackageBee, Full Sync and Smart Sync.

  • A Full Sync synchronizes all inventory. When you first connect your Store and Warehouse, you should perform a Full Sync as your first inventory sync.
  • For automated sync, PackageBee uses Smart Sync, which synchronizes only the inventory that changed in quantity since the last sync. Smart Sync is significantly faster than a Full Sync.

You can perform a Smart Sync or Full Sync any time on demand.

Full Sync

Full Sync

In a Full Sync, data is synchronized for all inventory items, regardless of when their quantity was last updated.

Full sync should be executed as the first inventory sync after connecting a new store and a warehouse.

To perform a Full Sync:

  1. In your PackageBee Dashboard, click Connections.

In the PackageBee Dashboard, click Connections.

  1. Click the name of the Connection whose inventory update schedule you want to edit.

Click the name of a Connection.

  1. Click the Inventory tab.

Click the Inventory tab.

  1. In the Control Panel, click Actions > Full inventory update.

In Control Panel, click Actions, Full inventory update.

Smart Sync

Smart Sync

PackageBee uses Smart Sync when performing automatic updates. A Smart Sync synchronizes only inventory that has changed in quantity since the last update.

For example, consider a store whose automatic inventory updates are scheduled to run every 60 minutes. A Smart Sync is run on March 2, 2020 at 2 PM, and finds the following inventory in the eCommerce platform:

SKU Qty Last Update
A 7 2/28/2020 8:45 AM
B 10 3/2/2020 1:30 PM
C 3 2/25/2020 11:00 AM

At 3 PM, it runs again, and finds the following inventory:

SKU Qty Last Update
A 5 3/2/2020 2:30 PM
B 10 3/2/2020 1:30 PM
C 3 2/25/2020 11:00 AM

In this example, only item A would be synchronized; the other items have not changed in quantity since the previous sync.

After you enable inventory sync, Smart Sync runs automatically according to your inventory update schedule — once an hour by default.

To run a Smart Sync on demand:

  1. In your PackageBee Dashboard, click Connections.
  2. Click the name of the desired Connection.
  3. Click the Inventory tab.
  4. in the Inventory Dashboard Control Panel, click Actions > Update inventory.

In Connection Inventory Tab, Control Panel, click Actions, Update inventory.
