Stock Keeping Units (SKUs) are merchant-defined codes that uniquely identify products in a warehouse. It is critical that the SKUs defined in Shopify exactly match the SKUs loaded into your fulfillment provider's warehouse management system.
Add an SKU for a new product
- Log in to your Shopify administration panel.
- Click Products > Add product.
- Under Inventory & variants, enter a unique SKU.
- Click Save.
Add or edit an SKU for an existing product
- Log in to your Shopify administration panel.
- Click Products, and select the desired product.
- Under Inventory & variants, click Edit for the desired variant.
- Modify the SKU, then click Save.
