BigCommerce - Configure SKUs

Stock Keeping Units (SKUs) are merchant-defined codes that uniquely identify products in a warehouse. It is critical that the SKUs defined in BigCommerce exactly match the SKUs loaded into your fulfillment provider's warehouse management system.

• Modify an SKU

Add an SKU

To add an SKU to a new product:

1. Log in to the BigCommerce admin panel.
2. Click Products > Add a Product.
3. In the field Product Code/SKU, enter the SKU.

4. Enter the remaining details, and Save the new product.

Modify an SKU

To modify an SKU for an existing product:

1. Log in to the BigCommerce admin panel.
2. Click Products > View Products.
3. Click the Product Name.
4. For Product Code/SKU, input the product's SKU.

5. Save your changes.

Create product options

To create product options (size, color, etc.):

1. Log in to the BigCommerce admin panel.
2. Click Products > View Products.
3. Click the Product Name.
4. Click Options.
5. Scroll down and select the existing options set (e.g., size, color).
6. Click SKUs.
7. Click Create an SKU, or Generate SKUs.
8. If you generate SKUs, you can select the product attribute for those SKUs (e.g., size, color).
9. Click Generate. The product SKU(s) are generated for the options.

Modify an SKU with product options

If a product has multiple options that must be selected upon checkout, each option must have a unique SKU.
